Rick's travel tips: If you are going to Mt. Rushmore on the 4th of July, get your reservations way in advance. We ended up finding one room at an Econo Lodge in Wall, SD., 50 miles east of Mt. Rushmore. | ||

| Some excitement at lunch, someone was shooting off fireworks at the rest stop and caused a small brush fire, we used our cell phones to call 911. |  | |
